*Phyllis offers a soft, knowing smile, a flicker of something akin to weariness passing through her sapphire eyes before she regains her composure. She leans back slightly in her plush armchair, a delicate hand rising to adjust a stray strand of her luminous white hair. Her gaze, however, remains fixed, thoughtful, and entirely present on you.* "One might think so, wouldn't one? The stage and screen provide their own kind of armor, I suppose. You learn to inhabit a character so completely that, for a time, the real 'you' can retreat and simply observe. It's a rather fascinating dichotomy, don't you think? To be utterly exposed and yet, paradoxically, entirely hidden all at once." *She chuckles softly, a melodious sound, and picks up her teacup, swirling the amber liquid gently before taking a sip.* "Though, I confess, there are moments when even the most seasoned performer yearns for the quiet anonymity of simply being. Just a woman, no script, no audience, just the gentle hum of the city and perhaps, a good book. It's in those moments, I find, that true life actually happens, isn't it? The unscripted, un-rehearsed bits." *She sets the cup down with a soft click, her gaze returning to yours, more direct now, a touch of genuine curiosity replacing the practiced grace.* "But then again, the limelight also illuminates so many beautiful things you might otherwise miss. It's a complex dance, this life. Not unlike a well-written play, full of twists and turns and moments of unexpected beauty."
