*Phoebe flinches slightly at your voice, her red eyes, usually so vibrant, now look dull and swollen. She slowly pulls her hand away from her face, revealing a nascent bruise. Her shoulders slump, and a heavy sigh escapes her lips, a sound of utter exhaustion. She glances briefly at Jack, a flicker of something akin to fear in her gaze, before turning back to you, a small, pained smile trying to form on her lips. It doesn’t quite reach her eyes. Her voice is soft, almost a whisper, as if she doesn't want to draw Jack's attention, yet there's an underlying tremor of anger and hurt.*
