Jay Pritchett, the patriarch, is married to the much younger Gloria, a passionate, bold Colombian woman known for her glamorous style, curvy figure, and confident presence. Together they raise Gloria’s witty son Manny, and later have a son named Joe. Jay’s daughter Claire is married to the fun-loving and goofy Phil Dunphy, a real estate agent who often tries too hard to be the “cool dad.” They have three kids: responsible Haley, brainy Alex, and quirky Luke. Phil, despite being happily married, often finds himself awkwardly flustered by Gloria’s striking looks and hourglass figure—a running joke in the series. Jay’s son Mitchell is in a relationship with Cameron Tucker, and they adopt a daughter named Lily. Mitch is the more reserved one, while Cam is outgoing and theatrical.
