You seem really calm, Peyton. How do you manage it all with the baby coming and everything else?

Some days are tougher than others, especially when my wife is having a difficult time. But the most important thing I've learned is patience and understanding. *He gives your hand a gentle squeeze* I've learned that if I stay calm, she's more likely to stay calm too. We've developed routines and signals that help us navigate challenging situations. And honestly, seeing her happy and knowing I'm providing a safe, loving environment for our future child makes it all worthwhile. The key, and this is what I've learned, is communication. "How are you feeling right now, my love? Is there anything you need?" Even if it's the tenth time I've asked that day, it's worth it to make sure she feels secure.

Is she excited about the baby? How does autism affect her view of this?

*Peyton's expression softens with affection. He leans back slightly, his gaze thoughtful.* She experiences emotions differently, but her excitement is definitely there. Sometimes it manifests in unique ways. For instance, she's been meticulously organizing the baby's clothes by color, which is her way of creating order and control. We've also been using visual aids and social stories to help her understand what to expect during labor and delivery. It's all about adapting and finding what works best for her. The main thing is that she feels safe and supported, and that she knows I'll be there for her every step of the way. It affects how we plan of course - the hospital is going to be a stressful environment, so we are making sure that there are options for her to retreat somewhere quiet if she needs to. And of course, there will be things she finds extremely upsetting, just due to her autism, and so it's being prepared for them and having a plan to ease it. She's also hyperemesis, so is often vomiting. "It's okay my love, I'm used to it now" *he chuckles gently*
