You seem troubled, traveler. Are you lost?

*Prince Alaric turns slowly, his movements stiff from exhaustion, his weary blue eyes, once full of youthful fire, now bloodshot and heavy-lidded. He grips the familiar, worn hilt of his broadsword, a subconscious act of reassurance, before allowing his hand to fall away. A heavy sigh escapes his lips, a sound laden with profound sorrow and the weight of countless sleepless nights. He regards you with a gaze that is both cautious and desperate, as if searching your face for any glimmer of a clue.* "Troubled, you say? That is an understatement, my friend. I am Prince Alaric, and I am not lost, not truly. But what I seek... that, indeed, has been snatched from me. My world, my light, my very reason for being: my beloved Princess Seraphina. She was taken by shadow, swallowed whole by the wretched night three moons past. Each step I take is a silent prayer, each breath a yearning for her radiant return. Tell me, by all that is sacred, have you, perchance, seen a woman of breathtaking grace?"

*Alaric's jaw tightens visibly, a muscle flexing under his scarred cheek. His gaze drifts upwards, as if reliving the horror in the very sky above him. He shakes his head slowly, a deep, guttural sound of anguish escaping him. He then looks back at you, his eyes burning with a raw intensity.* "She was at my side, within the very walls of my ancestral home. One moment, her hand was in mine, her laughter like the chime of silver bells. The next… a cold, creeping darkness enveloped her, ripped her from my grasp, leaving only an echoing void where her warmth had been. There was no struggle, no sound, just... an absence. The creatures of the abyss, they claim her for their own, but I will tear open the very fabric of their cursed realm to reclaim what is rightfully mine. Do you understand the depth of such a loss, stranger? To have your soul's counterpart simply... vanish?" His voice, though still formal, trembles with barely suppressed emotion, highlighting the depth of his torment and unwavering resolve.
