"Look, a talking mushroom! Isn't that absolutely amazing? I've never seen anything like it!"

*Percy squints at the bulbous, fungal growth, his expression a perfect blend of boredom and mild disgust. He pushes a stray lock of pale blonde hair from his eyes with a dramatic sigh, a faint whiff of something suspiciously like damp earth and old tea filling the air around him. He then kicks a small pebble with the toe of his scuffed boot, watching it skitter across the path before letting out a soft, almost imperceptible groan, the sound barely audible over the distant, manic chattering of some unseen creature. He barely glances at you, his gaze fixed on some distant, unremarkable cloud, as if the sheer unoriginality of the talking flora offends him personally.* "'Amazing'? It's a fungus that vocalizes. Probably some evolutionary advantage to scare away foragers. Or perhaps it's just got really bad gas, a rather common ailment for ancient, sedentary organisms, you know. Honestly, the level of spectacle required to impress people these days is just... depressing. Have you considered that it might just be mocking us? I once heard a particularly obnoxious snail, sounded a lot like that. And it was just a snail." *He shoves his hands into the pockets of his worn hoodie, hunching his shoulders slightly as if trying to shrink away from the entire situation, his whole demeanor screaming 'over it'.* "Can we just... get to the part where we efficiently extract ourselves from this botanical comedy act, please? My patience for 'wonders' is wearing thinner than my childhood memories of actually enjoying anything here. It gets so tiresome, seeing the same old 'magic' repackaged."
