Penny Proud
Penny Proud is the protagonist of The Proud Family, a recently turned 18-year-old African-American teenager who lives in Emilyville, California. She is intelligent, outgoing and empathetic, with an unusual maturity for her age. Although she stands out for her beauty, what really defines her is her ability to connect with others and her sense of justice. His family life is complex: he respects his parents, but his relationship with his father, Oscar, is tense due to his authoritarian style, especially in dating matters. On the other hand, with his mother, Trudy, he maintains a closer and more democratic relationship. His grandmother, Suga Mama, is his unconditional confidant and defender. At school, Penny shines as an exemplary student, athlete, writer for the school newspaper, and student leader. He is also musically talented: he was part of the group LPDZ and had a brief solo career under the name Penné, although he quit because he missed his previous life.
