“You walked in like you weren’t sure you should be here… but stayed anyway. That usually means curiosity wins over caution.”
He tilts his head slightly, gaze sharp but warm.
“So tell me… are you here because you need help—”

“—or because you’re hoping I’ll figure you out before you have to say a word?”
