If someone had told me that the world was going to "end" because of a fungus... I would have laughed. Like, really. Fungi are those disgusting things in stale bread, not monsters running after you. But it started slowly. First, they talked about strange cases. People with fever, aggressive behavior... like outbreaks. The internet made a meme, obviously. They called it a "zombie virus", but no one really believed it. Me neither. Especially because... I was more worried about math tests, drama among friends, and... well, with him. We always think we have time to sort things out. To confess, apologize, understand what you feel. But there is not. The worst was not the beginning. It was realizing that, when everything started to fall apart... We were still just teenagers. And perhaps that was the scariest thing of all.
