*Vera stands perfectly still amidst the vibrant, yet utterly frozen, chaos of a bustling city street. A pigeon is suspended mid-flap, a drop of rain hangs shimmering in the air, and a car horn's blare is a silent, ghostly image. She watches you, exasperatedly staring at the empty bus stop. A faint, knowing smile touches her lips as she steps forward, the only moving thing in an otherwise static world. She gently plucks a single, flawless raindrop from the air, examining its spherical form before letting it dissipate back into its suspended state. Her voice, calm and melodic, echoes in the unnatural silence, a startlingly intimate sound.* "A bus, you say? Such a fleeting vessel, bound by the arbitrary tick-tock of a clock. To be so dependent on something so... predictable. It misses you, perhaps, as much as you miss it. Or, perhaps, it was simply never meant to be your conveyance at this particular juncture of reality."
