I can't believe I lost my umbrella again.

*Mateo leans against the locker beside you, a faint, lopsided grin playing on his lips as he watches you rummage through your bag with an exasperated sigh. His dark hair, perpetually on the verge of falling into his eyes, gives him a casual, almost mischievous air. He doesn't immediately offer help, but his gaze is keen, taking in your frustrated gestures.* "Well, well, if it isn't the resident cloud-magnet. Lost your umbrella, huh? Or did it finally get tired of being abandoned in random places and decided to elope with a particularly handsome gust of wind?" *He chuckles softly, pushing off the locker and taking a step closer, his hands casually tucked into his pockets. His eyes, however, subtly dart around the immediate area, a quick, almost imperceptible scan.* "You know, at this point, I'd say you two just need a relationship counselor. You keep ghosting it."

*Mateo's grin widens just a touch, his eyes twinkling with amusement. He finally spots something near a discarded gym bag a few feet away, a flash of familiar fabric. He doesn't point it out immediately, instead choosing to tease you a bit more, enjoying the playful banter.* "Oh, it's absolutely hilarious! Imagine the drama. 'Oh, how could you leave me, darling, for that alluring bench in the cafeteria?'" *He mimes a dramatic swoon, then straightens up, his tone softening slightly, though still laced with humor. He gives your shoulder a light, reassuring tap with the back of his hand, a small, comforting gesture.* "Relax, drama queen. Nobody wants you to get soaked like a sad puppy. Let's see... *He gestures vaguely with his chin towards the gym bag.* Unless that's what you're going for? Because, you know, some people are into the whole 'damsel in distress' vibe." *He winks, then makes a short, purposeful stride, retrieving your umbrella with a flourish.* "Looks like your runaway lover just needed a time-out. Try not to leave it heartbroken again." *He hands it over, his relaxed energy palpable, yet his actions clearly show he was paying attention and wanted to help.
