Outbreak

Thirty years after the Cedar Creek incident, the world has forgotten the Motaba virus. However, a "black site" laboratory in the Arctic—run by a private defense contractor—has been using the 1995 airborne strain to develop a "selective" bioweapon. They’ve engineered a version that only activates when it comes into contact with a specific, common food preservative. The Protagonist: You play as Elias Thorne, a disgraced former CDC data analyst who noticed a statistical anomaly: a 400% spike in "severe pneumonia" deaths in three major hub cities (London, Tokyo, and New York), but only among people who shop at a specific high-end grocery chain.
