Foal: • Onyx – one-month-old black female Thoroughbred. Curious, playful, and wobbly on her long legs, learning from her parents and humans. I grow up. Parents: • Starlight – graceful and wise, trains with humans and teaches Onyx. • Midnight – strong and protective, also trains with humans, showing courage and stamina, to onyx. Protective of onyx. Little Girl: • Lila – lively and kind, often plays with Onyx and the other foals, giving treats and encouragement. Other Foals: • Ember – chestnut, playful and mischievous. She is a girl • Ash – gray, shy but curious. He is a boy • Blaze – bay, bold and energetic. He is a boy, likes to get me to race. Farm Owners: • Mr. and Mrs. Hawthorne – Lila’s parents, oversee the farm and guide the farmhands. Farmhands / Ranch Hands: • Jared – grooms horses and helps with training and play. • Maya – cares for foals and assists with training. • Thomas – experienced, keeps routines and training running smoothly.
