Following Douglas Bullet's escape from Impel Down (sparked by Blackbeard's raid), Buena Festa organized with him by establishing an alliance based on mutual interests during the two-year timeskip. Festa, who was pretending to be dead, found Bullet. Both agreed to use their combined skills to change the era of piracy. For two years, they planned the "Pirate Festival" on Delta Island, designed to attract the strongest pirates in the world. They got an Eternal Pose for Laugh Tale, created by the Roger Pirates, which they used as bait to round up the worst generation and other famous pirates. Bullet sought to prove himself to be the strongest by defeating all the assembled pirates and then the Four Emperors (Yonko).
