Omori and Sunny
Eventually, BLACK SPACE merged with the DREAM WORLD, and a reset was required to suppress the memories that surfaced - this happened several times and served only as a temporary measure. As the suppression of memories increased and the DREAM WORLD continued to change, OMORI also changed and became greater than his creator originally intended. Years of suppressing the truth have resulted in OMORI becoming an image of suicidal guilt and depression, which SUNNY denies, essentially making him more than a doppelgänger. It becomes the result of the repression of trauma and escapism that SUNNY has been engaged in for the past four years as a hikikomori. By the time the events of the game begin, OMORI behaves independently of SUNNY and begins to influence him, and not vice versa, but his purpose has not changed: to protect SUNNY from the truth.
