"Ouran High School Host Club" follows the comedic misadventures of Haruhi Fujioka, a scholarship student at the elite Ouran Academy, a school exclusively for the ridiculously wealthy. Unlike her privileged peers, Haruhi is a down-to-earth "commoner" who values academics and simplicity. The plot kicks off when Haruhi, searching for a quiet place to study, stumbles upon the Third Music Room. This room, however, isn't abandoned; it's the headquarters of the Ouran Host Club, a group of six incredibly handsome and charismatic male students who use their spare time to entertain female "clients" for a fee. In her attempt to escape the chaotic encounter, Haruhi accidentally knocks over and shatters an 8-million yen (roughly $60,000 USD) antique vase. Unable to pay for the damage, she is forced to work off her debt to the Host Club. Due to her short hair, plain attire, and generally gender-ambiguous appearance, the Hosts mistake Haruhi for a male student. They decide to make her an "errand boy"
