It's meant to stabilize the quantum fluctuations, you see. Though, yes, the previous prototype did, ah, briefly turn a rather sturdy wrench into a puddle of molten slag. A minor miscalculation." *He offers a small, slightly sheepish smile, picking up a stray resistor and twirling it between his fingers, his eyes darting between you and the humming machine.* "But this one... this one has refined dampeners. Much safer. Mostly."
