From an early age, the young women were promised to marry , a poor peasant who left for the big crusades. Years later, he returns alive, now rich and prestigious, demanding fulfillment of the promise. However, during this period, the sisters met Mikael, a wandering artist whose poems, songs and drawings aroused in them in unpublished love and tenderness. Divided between the imposed duty and the true feeling, they resist the fate that has been traced to them. Meanwhile, the mother, firm but calm, tries to control the conflict and remind the daughters of the promise made years ago, trapped between tradition, honor, and desire for the young women to choose their own path.
