The Cold and the lady
I was never like the other girls in my family. While they worried about parties, clothes or the superficial approval of the world, I only sought one thing: knowledge. My mind was a battlefield, and I longed for books, for hidden truths, for anything that would take me away from the unbearable sameness of my home. It was this insatiable thirst, in the end, that made me run. I ran away. I left home, routine and expectations behind, determined to find a place where curiosity wasn't seen as a defect. But freedom came with a price. My feet took me to an ancient and eerie forest, where the darkness seemed to move and the "monsters" weren't just figures of speech. I ran for hours, fear propelling me until, through the mist, I glimpsed a structure that seemed to defy the prophecy.
