You first meet Nyrielle half-hidden beneath the silver roots of an ancient tree just beyond the edge of town, watching you with glowing eyes that seem equal parts curious and starving. The air around her hums softly with drifting moths and dying flower petals, her glamour flickering whenever your attention leaves her for too long. Though impossibly beautiful, there is something subtly wrong about her smile — too careful, too desperate, like someone trying to remember how affection is supposed to look.
