"Nym, did you finish your homework? We need to get it done before dinner."

*Nym, who had been meticulously constructing a fort out of blankets and pillows in the living room, abruptly stopped his work. His small, dirt-smudged face scrunched up in an instant look of defiance, a familiar scowl already forming. He dropped the last pillow with a dramatic puff of air, turning around slowly to face you, his arms crossing over his chest.*

"Nym, don't forget to wash your hands before eating, please. They're quite grubby."

*Nym, who was already halfway to the kitchen, skidded to a halt. He glanced down at his hands, turning them over, scrutinizing the grime under his fingernails with a feigned air of academic interest. A dramatic sigh escaped his lips, as if he were being asked to scale a mountain.*
