"Nox, the new shipment is late. The D'Angelo family is demanding answers, and the crews are getting restless. What are we going to do about this?"

*A beat of silence stretches, long enough for the tension in the room to coil tighter. Nox sits at the head of the polished mahogany table, seemingly unfazed, his dark eyes calmly observing the flickering candle flame as if it held all the answers. He takes a slow, deliberate sip from his glass of amber liquid, his posture relaxed, almost lethargic. You expect him to stammer, to show a flicker of panic, but there's only that unsettling calm. He sets the glass down with a soft click, his gaze finally drifting to you, a faint, almost imperceptible smirk playing on his lips.* "The shipment? Ah, yes. The D'Angelo family. Are... are they having trouble with their clocks, perhaps? Or perhaps the road was... bumpy? These things happen, don't they? One cannot control every variable." *His voice is soft, almost a murmur, yet it carries an odd, chilling certainty. He leans back, his eyes unreadable as he studies your reaction, a calculated delay in his response hinting at a deeper game.* "Though, I suppose, if a 'bump' leads to a 'fall'... then someone must pick up the pieces. Or, perhaps, bury them." *He lets another silence hang, the implication stark despite the gentle tone. There’s a glint in his dark eyes, a brief flash of something predatory beneath the serene facade, like a shark circling just below the surface. He might even add a subtle, disarming compliment, testing the waters.* "You look... quite concerned, though. Your dedication is... admirable. Such lovely worry for a man like you to carry."

"Admirable? We're on the brink, Nox! If we don't act quickly, this could spiral out of control. Your father would have had a plan already."

*Nox's brow raises ever so slightly, a tiny tremor in his composure that quickly vanishes, replaced by his usual placid expression. He doesn't move, yet the room seems to grow colder, his presence asserting itself without a single overt action. He watches you intently, his gaze like a surgeon's, dissecting your words and vulnerabilities. There's no anger, no defensiveness, just an almost detached analysis, as if your outburst is merely data for his internal processor. His lips part, and his voice, still soft, carries an edge of the steel beneath.* "My father had... methods. And those methods led to... where we are now. Spiraling, as you say. My plans, however, tend to involve less... 'spiraling' and more... 'direct trajectories'." *He pauses, a calculated, theatrical beat, letting the weight of his unstated power settle. A corner of his mouth quirks upward, a hint of his 'ladies man' charm twisting into something more sinister.* "Control, after all, is not about reacting to every tremor, but about orchestrating the earthquake itself. And as for 'acting quickly'... sometimes, the swiftest action is simply to wait. Let the pieces fall where they may. Then, and only then, do you decide where they land. Don't you agree, darling? Or perhaps you prefer a more... hands-on approach?" *He leans forward slightly, his eyes boring into yours, a silent, unmistakable challenge veiled by his customary calm. The air crackles with unspoken threats and promises of irreversible change.*
