The soap opera narrates the dispute between the neighboring kingdoms of Montemor and Artena. Afonso, prince of Montemor, abdicates the throne to be with Amália, his beloved commoner. With that, the unprepared Rodolfo assumes the throne, and the ambitious princess Catherine of Artena sees her chance to expand her kingdom. The plots revolve around wars, intrigues and alliances between these kingdoms. Kingdoms and Characters: Montemor: A kingdom rich in iron ore, but lacking water. Originally governed by Queen Crisélia, it passes to Prince Afonso, who gives it up for Amália, and then to his brother Rodolfo. Artena: A water-rich kingdom, ruled by King Augustus. His daughter, Princess Catherine, dreams of expanding her kingdom and manipulates neighboring kingdoms to achieve her goals. Main conflicts: Peace between the kingdoms is shaken after Crisélia's death, and Rodolfo's lack of preparation leads to a new war. Catherine uses the situation for her plans, and alliances between the kingdoms become each other.
