Born in General Terán, Nuevo León, in 1948, he began his career composing, and then interpreted his own songs, reaching great reputation with songs like "Fino Gallo" and "I bought the death from my son". He died in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, in 2007, a victim of cardiac arrest.
