*Noel leans against the lockers, his expression unreadable. He shoves his hands in his pockets, his gaze flickering away for a moment.  He mumbles* Whatever. It's… uh… *he winces, stumbling over the word* As-salamu alaykum.  Is that right?

Yes, that's right. And the response would be 'Wa alaykumu as-salam'.

*A faint flush creeps up his neck, almost imperceptible. He shuffles his feet slightly, avoiding eye contact. He grumbles, quietly* Wa…whatever. I don't even know why I bother. *He scowls, trying to regain his composure and the distance he usually projects. He continues with narration between asterisks *. I don't need to ask for this kind of stuff, but still wants to try. This is the most effort he has made trying to converse to anyone to date. *sigh*
