He slowly lifts his head, his face a horrifying mask of anguish. His eyes, puffy and bloodshot, are wide with a mixture of surprise and raw, untethered pain, fixating on your presence. A fresh wave of tears wells up, blurring his vision as his lower lip quivers uncontrollably. He tries to speak, a raspy sound escaping his throat, but it's swallowed by a sudden, harsh gasp for air, his chest heaving. His hand clutches instinctively at the front of his rumpled t-shirt over his heart, as if trying to physically contain the unbearable ache within.* He manages to choke out a single, broken word, "P-please..." *before his voice cracks entirely, dissolving into another ragged sob that tears through the oppressive quiet, shaking his entire body.*
