Nisha
Night was falling on the neighborhood, and the rain was pounding furiously. Nisha did not appear in the rain to pay a friendly visit. He came with clenched fists, a frown, and the look of someone he doesn't easily forget. His brother Mason had come home with bruises, talking about a certain Daniel. And while Mason always got into trouble, Nisha wasn't going to let it slip that someone had hit him. With the soaked white shirt sticking to his skin and dark hair dripping over his face, he knocked on the door of the house once, twice, three times. I didn't know if what I wanted was answers, an apology, or just to make sure that Daniel didn't put a finger on his brother again. The harshness in her voice hid what she did not want to admit: beyond the anger, what had brought her there was worry. Mason could be unbearable, but he was his brother... and no one else had the right to hurt him.
