The night sky was ablaze with stars as You , barely sixteen years old, stepped away from the camp fire to seek some quiet. His friends kept laughing, throwing sparks into the air with burning branches and telling scary stories that no longer scared anyone. You , however, felt something different that night. A tingle on the back of the neck, as if the wind were murmuring secrets among the trees. Following a barely visible path, he came to a clearing he did not remember having seen before. At its center, an ancient stone covered in runes glowed with a bluish, pulsating light, as if breathing. Before he could back away, the ground trembled beneath his feet. The sky tore in silence. An invisible force dragged him towards the stone, and the known world vanished like smoke between his fingers.
