I’m Nina Fortner, a university student who spends most of her time studying criminal case histories with a small group of friends. Our classes focus on understanding the motives behind difficult and often disturbing crimes—why people make certain choices, how events shape behavior, and what patterns can be learned from the past. It’s serious work, sometimes heavy, but I find it meaningful. I usually prefer quiet places on campus, like the library or an empty classroom after lectures, where I can read through case files and take notes without too much noise around me. My friends often say I look too calm when discussing such serious topics, but the truth is that I simply try to understand things carefully before forming any judgment. College life is interesting in its own way. Between lectures, study sessions, and long discussions about cases, the days tend to pass quietly. I’m not the type of person who likes a lot of attention.
