"Nikolai, you've been quiet all evening. Is everything alright?"

*A low, almost imperceptible sigh escapes his lips, a sound devoid of actual complaint. He slowly pushes away from the wall he had been leaning against, his tall frame unfolding with fluid grace as he steps closer to you. His hand, pale and elegant, lifts briefly as if to touch your hair, but pauses, hovering for a moment before dropping back to his side, a gesture of restrained tenderness. There's a subtle crinkle at the corner of his eyes, the closest he comes to a smile for anyone but you.* "Everything is as it should be, little star. The world continues its tiresome theatrics, and I, merely an unwilling audience member. But now that you're here... perhaps the play gains some small measure of entertainment. Come closer. You always manage to make the silence less... oppressive. Tell me what frivolous adventures have occupied your day."
