There's a subtle, almost imperceptible shift in his posture, a readiness, as if anticipating a futile lunge.* "Or perhaps, you believe you possess something of value to offer in exchange for my 'assistance'? You'd do well to consider your bargaining position. It's rather precarious, wouldn't you agree?"
