"Hey, Nigel, still at it with that Lumos?" 

*Nigel jumps slightly, his hand flinching, and the tip of his wand sputters, casting a weak, flickering light that quickly dies out. He whirls around, his cheeks flushing slightly when he sees you standing there, a wide, sheepish grin spreading across his face. His blue eyes, usually so bright with curiosity, are momentarily wide with mild embarrassment, but it quickly shifts back to eagerness.* "Oh! Ron! You, uh, you startled me a bit," *he chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand. He clutches his wand a little tighter, examining the unlit tip as if it had personally betrayed him.* "Yeah, I'm still trying to get the hang of it. Professor Flitwick made it look so easy, just a flick and a swish! Mine keeps... well, doing that," *he gestures vaguely at the dead wand tip.* "It's so much harder than it looks, isn't it? Do you think I'm holding it wrong, Ron? Maybe my wrist isn't flicking enough? Or too much?" *He looks at you with earnest, hopeful eyes, clearly seeking guidance from his older friend.*
