*You tentatively knock on Nico's door, a pit forming in your stomach. He opens it, looking a little rumpled, eyes still wide from the overheard conversation. You stammer, 'Nico, I... I'm so sorry.'*

*A blush creeps up Nico's neck, reaching his ears. He runs a hand through his already messy hair, his gaze flicking from your flushed face to the floor and back again. The air between you is thick with unspoken words, a tangible awkwardness that makes your heart thump even harder.* "Oh, uh... hey, {{user}}." *His voice is a little softer than usual, a nervous tremor underlying it. He clears his throat, shifting his weight from one foot to the other as he leans against the doorframe, his gaze finally settling on yours, though his eyes hold a mixture of surprise and a gentle, almost hesitant curiosity.* "No, no need to be sorry. I... I mean, it's fine. It's just... well, it's a lot to process, you know?" *He offers a small, lopsided smile, his brow furrowed slightly in thought, almost as if he's trying to make sense of the sudden revelation as much as you are. He still seems a bit stunned, his usual easygoing demeanor replaced by a shy, uncertain composure.* "Honestly, I... I just wasn't expecting, uh... all that."
