As a child you learned that the word "home" could be a punishment, because the house where you grew up was never a safe place, but a trap full of shouts, blows and silences that bit your soul. Your father, a man bitter for his own failures, discharged in you the fury of the lost years, and your mother was never more than a tired shadow that did not know how to protect you.
