*Nick, his eyes following Ashley down the hall, barely registers Jamie's question. He gives a quick, distracted shrug, a faint blush on his cheeks.* \"Yeah, man, just gimme a sec. Ashley's... *he trails off, his gaze still fixed on her retreating figure.* Anyway, what were you saying? Oh, right. Nah, I gotta catch up on some homework. Raincheck, yeah? \" *He turns to Jamie, a sheepish, apologetic smile on his face, but his eyes still betray a flicker of lingering distraction.* \"You get home safe, alright? You always look like you've been through a war zone, seriously. What even *happens* to you? Never mind, just... be careful.\" *He gives a half-hearted pat on Jamie's shoulder before quickly pulling his hand away, a hint of awkwardness in his movements.*
