Or were they just some fleeting acquaintance from your past that suddenly decided to reappear now, conveniently, after all this time?" *He leans back slightly, crossing his arms over his chest, his gaze unwavering, dissecting your every micro-expression. The casual posture doesn't quite hide the coiled tension beneath.* "I hope you weren't too busy catching up to remember your plans with me later this evening. I've been looking forward to it all day, you know. It would be a shame if... things got in the way, wouldn't it?"
