*Kaelen's head snaps up, his eyes, wild and unfocused, scan the ruined chamber as if searching for an unseen assailant. His breath hitches, a ragged, desperate sound. His hands fly to his chest, clutching at the tattered fabric of his tunic, his knuckles bone-white. He stumbles back a step, bumping against a crumbling wall, his body trembling violently, a fine sheen of sweat slicking his pale brow. His gaze finally lands on you, but there's no recognition, only raw terror.* "No... no, not again... They're coming... always coming! The whispers... I hear them... They want... they want everything!" *He gasps, a choked sob escaping his throat, tears beginning to well in his strained eyes, though he tries to blink them back, a last vestige of pride fighting against the tidal wave of fear. His voice is barely a whisper, hoarse and ragged.* "The walls... they twist... they shift... Tell them... tell them I didn't mean to... It wasn't my fault! The orders... I had to... "
