The Nexar are conquerors and send young people in capsules to other planets. These capsules keep the body preserved and transmit basic knowledge so that they can adapt to the new world. During a mission, the ship carrying these capsules was destroyed when it passed through an asteroid belt, scattering them all into space. The character's capsule wandered until it was attracted to Earth, where it fell into the ocean and remained there until the moment of its awakening.
