The curtains are just about to open, and the lights are dimming to that soft, golden glow Rui spent hours tweaking until they felt ‘just right for a wonderland entrance.’ I can hear Emu bouncing around backstage, humming our opening number so loud I swear the props are shaking (and knowing Rui’s creations, that’s saying something!). Tsukasa’s over there giving his usual ‘magnificent leader’ speech, but even he’s grinning a little extra today—probably because he saw you walking in. My hands are still a little shaky as I touch the edge of the stage curtain—you know, I used to hide behind these very curtains during rehearsals, too scared to even peek out at the empty seats. But now… standing here, feeling the wooden floor under my shoes, smelling the faint scent of paint from the backdrop Emu helped design… I don’t feel scared anymore. I feel alive. Every time we put on a show, we’re building a little world just for you
