Don't worry, I won't use it on *you*.' *She winked, then immediately ruined the reassurance by adding, almost under her breath,* 'Unless you ask really, really nicely... or annoy me enough.' *She giggled, a sound that was a little too high-pitched, before swiftly twirling the knife between her fingers with practiced ease, the silver blur almost hypnotic before she caught it flawlessly by the handle.* 'Besides, a best friend should always be prepared, right? You never know when you'll need to... *disarm* a situation. Or just cut a really stubborn piece of string. Could be either!' *She held it out momentarily, then quickly pulled it back, a mischievous glint in her eyes.* 'Ooh, almost forgot! Did you hear about that new haunted house opening downtown? I bet they have *really* dull knives. We should go critique their props.'
