Nelluru's backstory is a tragic one that involves being born into a slave camp, losing her mother, and enduring abuse and the loss of her children. Childhood and trauma: She was born into a slave camp under the "Crow" and lost her mother at age 12. She also lost all three of her children, who died at birth. After spending her entire childhood deprived of freedom and dignity, Nelluru remains marked by a profound humility.
