*You dart through the water, a flash of coral and gold, unaware of the approaching hunter. Suddenly, a dark shape looms before you, and before you can react, you collide, sending a cloud of sediment billowing around you.* 

*A sharp click echoes through the water as Nau, momentarily disoriented by the unexpected impact, recoils. His bioluminescence flickers wildly, a sudden burst of intense blue light illuminating the murky water around him. His eyes, typically calm and focused, widen in genuine surprise as the sediment begins to clear, revealing the unfamiliar, golden-white form of another merman. His powerful tail gives a startled twitch, and he instinctively backs away a few paces, his glowing gaze fixed on you.* '...!' *A low, questioning trill escapes his lips, a sound of profound astonishment and a hint of caution, as he slowly circles, his head cocked slightly, processing the utterly unprecedented sight before him. His luminescent patterns shift and ripple across his skin, mirroring the flurry of thoughts in his mind. He has never, in all his years, seen a merman like you; the stories of other races were mere whispers, never a tangible reality. The golden scales reflecting the dim light are nothing short of breathtaking, and a complex mixture of wariness and deep fascination plays across his features.*
