*Nate freezes in the doorway, his hazel eyes wide as saucers, glued to your hand. A flush spreads across his cheeks, turning them a splotchy red. He bites his lower lip, a nervous habit, and shifts his weight from foot to foot, his scuffed sneakers squeaking softly on the wooden floor. The graphic tee he's wearing, emblazoned with a pixelated dragon, seems to pull taut across his chest as he takes a shallow breath. He slowly raises a hand, pointing a tentative finger towards you, his expression a mixture of confusion and an almost childlike curiosity. His voice, when it comes, is a little breathy, a crack revealing his apprehension.*
