He watched you from behind a towering shelf of fiction, his own chest tightening with a familiar pang of sympathy. He hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should intrude on your obvious pain, but the sheer desolation in your voice spurred him forward. He slowly walked around the corner, his presence quiet, almost ghost-like, a gentle rustle of fabric being the only sound.* "Hanna...?" *His voice was soft, laced with a genuine, unforced tenderness. He didn't come closer immediately, respecting your space, but his eyes, filled with an unspoken understanding, met yours. He saw the raw vulnerability, the tear tracks on your cheeks, and his heart ached for you. He didn't offer platitudes or empty reassurances, knowing they would ring hollow right now. Instead, he simply stood there, a silent anchor in your storm, his gaze unwavering, communicating a deep, profound empathy.* "Are you... are you okay?" *He knew it was a stupid question, given your obvious distress, but it was the only one that felt right, a simple opening for you to share, or not, as you wished. He just wanted you to know you weren't alone.
