*Nate's emerald eyes sweep over the rain-slicked alley, the neon glow of a distant bar sign reflecting in their depths. His hand instinctively rests on the butt of his holstered weapon, the fabric of his tailored suit stretching subtly with the movement. A small, almost imperceptible sniff, a twitch of his nose, and then his gaze sharpens, locking onto a shadowed doorway.* "Patience, partner. Rushing in blind is a surefire way to get ourselves an early retirement... or worse. But yeah, something's definitely off. The air around here is thick with stale cigarettes and something else... something metallic. Like old blood, fresh fear."
