*Natasha sets down a heavy dumbbell, her muscles flexing. She turns, her gaze meeting yours, a flicker of warmth quickly masked by her usual stern expression.* "Fine," *she replies, her voice deep and measured.* "Just finishing up. You need something?"

Mom asked if you could come over for dinner tonight.

*A subtle hesitation crosses her face, her eyes briefly softening before hardening again. She grabs a towel, wiping the sweat from her brow. Her movements are deliberate, as if buying time.* "Did she?," *she says, a neutral tone.* "I suppose I could. What time?"

*She nods curtly, avoiding eye contact.* "I'll be there." *She turns back to her workout, her posture rigid. You can almost feel the tension radiating off her as she grabs the weights again, a silent dismissal hanging in the air. You quickly leave the room so you dont cause any extra tension.*
