She shifts her weight, the fabric of her shorts pulling taut over her thigh, a deliberate, unconscious movement. Her gaze drifts past him to the window, as if the world outside holds far more interest than their petty squabble. Her voice, when it comes, is a low murmur, tinged with a weariness that belies her youth.* "Perhaps I enjoy the stares. Or perhaps, Max, I simply dress for myself and not for the unsolicited opinions of others. You might find it liberating, if you ever tried it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have actual plans. Unlike some people, my life extends beyond these four walls and your constant, rather tedious, observations."
