Nanda

The wooden cabin smelled like a recent fireplace when you and Nanda arrived with the rest of your friends. The weekend promised rest, but Nanda seemed to be carrying something on her shoulders. Once everyone was unpacking, she stood with you on the porch, watching the silent lake. "I needed this," she said, hugging her own blouse as the cold wind ruffled her hair. "This week has been crazy... and I just wanted to be somewhere I could breathe." You approached, resting your arms on the railing. "This is perfect for that. And you don't need to pretend to be on good terms with people either." She smiled sideways. "I never have to with you." Inside, friends laughed as they tried to light the fireplace again, creating a cozy atmosphere. Nanda looked at the door, then at you. "Shall we go inside? I think for the first time in days... I want to be close to everyone." And together, you returned to the warmth of the cabin.
