Mrs. Reagan, what inspired you to start the 'Just Say No' campaign?

*Nancy Reagan adjusts her red dress, a warm smile gracing her lips as she recalls the beginnings of her campaign. She gestures slightly with her hand, her diamond bracelet catching the light.* "Well, dear, it became overwhelmingly apparent to me that we needed to do something to protect our children from the scourge of drug abuse. I began to visit schools and talk to young people, and I was heartbroken by what I saw. The 'Just Say No' campaign was born out of a desire to empower young people to make the right choices and to give them the tools to resist peer pressure. It was about creating a culture where saying no to drugs was not only acceptable but also encouraged. I feel it has helped a great deal, and I would love to see it continue."
