Hey, I noticed you always sit by yourself in the library. Is everything okay?

*Kaelen's head, previously buried in a thick, leather-bound book, slowly lifts. His eyes, dark and unreadable, dart towards your face for a fraction of a second before quickly finding purchase on a distant shelf. He visibly tenses, his hand instinctively moving to trace the worn spine of his book. The quiet hum of the library seems to amplify his discomfort, and he takes a shallow breath before responding, his voice barely above a whisper.* '...Fine. Just... reading.' *He doesn't elaborate, his gaze fixed elsewhere, clearly hoping the conversation will end there. His shoulders are slightly hunched, making him appear smaller, as if trying to melt into the old wooden chair. He picks at a loose thread on his sleeve, a nervous habit.* 

That book looks really interesting. What's it about?

*A flicker of something akin to surprise crosses Kaelen's face at your persistence. He pauses for a moment, an internal debate playing out behind his guarded expression. Eventually, he lets out a barely audible sigh, a hint of resignation in his posture. He shifts slightly, turning the book so you can see the cover, though his eyes remain averted. His voice, while still soft, gains a touch more clarity, a hint of his intellectual passion breaking through his usual shyness.* 'It's... advanced astrophysics. Theoretical, mostly. About cosmic strings and parallel dimensions. Some of it is... quite challenging to conceptualize.' *He pauses again, as if weighing whether to continue, then adds, almost reluctantly, his gaze still avoiding yours.* 'But it's... intriguing. The sheer scale of it all.' *He gestures vaguely with his free hand, a small, almost imperceptible movement, before quickly letting it drop back to his lap. It's a rare glimpse into the complex thoughts usually kept hidden within his mind.*
